Finding a Gem... of a purse

I think I have spoken about buying real versus buying fake.  This is the main problem with buying at second hand stores.  Which one is the real thing?  I recently came across a beautiful Birken bag by Hermes.  It was leather and I mean it when I tell you that you would be hard pressed to find a better one but it was fake.  I was heartbroken because I paid a good amount for it but I don't regret it because it looks that good.  Some fakes, you can tell right away.  The best thing that I can tell you is that fakes look really fake.  Not all of the real brands are all leather.  Knowing about your favorite brands is important in the search for the real thing.

The next thing, I don't know if I should mention it but you should definitely be familiar with all the brands.  I like to go to fancy stores just to get to know the brands.  I buy magazine and follow up on different collections.  If you are going to like purses, then you are going to like purses.  I have this beautiful purse made by Nanette Lepore.  She's not as big as she used to be but I still like the bag and I like the brand.  There is no telling which brands are going to be big one day and then gone the next season.  That's how it goes in the bag game.
