Following my "Spidey Sense"



There is not much to talk about this post.  I found this Louis Vuitton that is the cutest.  It is really understated.  In past posts (say that five times fast), I have given advice to bag lovers on how to find great purses and what to look for.  I admit that I have been tempted to buy bags online but I have never done so.  If you are an online bag buyer, please comment on how it goes for you and advice you would give to bag lovers buying online.  I may have to feature you on my little blog.

In any case, I feel like I have a spidey sense about shopping for purses.  The day I found this purse was just a bad day.  I usually don't hit up this second hand store until Friday (my bag shopping day), I just wanted to see what I would see.  Now, you should know that I don't make it a habit of stopping by the expensive display case.  I like to find the purses "out in the wild." I stopped and this bag was so understated that I had to look at it.  I was really skeptical about the purse because it was so subtle and the brass on the hardware had dulled a little bit.  It still had the original cards and the lining was impeccable.  I just had to get it.  It was more than I usually like to pay for my second hand finds but I just couldn't leave it behind so it came home with me.  I definitely will need more closet space soon but for now.  I'm enjoying my find.

Yes, I have bought a fake thinking it was real.  I know a lot of people that sell purses online and I must admit that I am always tempted to put in an offer.  Here's the problem.  When it comes to purses, I am a kinesthetic person.  I want to touch.  I want to look. Who are you wearing your purse for?

There is a dilemma when you go out with fancy purses.  I love fancy purses but I also admit that there is an image when you wear a fancy purse.  I've alluded to this in prior posts but this week I really want to talk about it.  Today I was eating lunch with my family today and I saw the worst Coach knock off I have seen, maybe ever.  Why not wear just a regular bag?  Why resort to this terrible thing?  I know this other lady that I have an association with and she has a really fancy purse. The kind of purse that has more place holders than I could ever afford.  I'm a little envious, if I'm confessing.  So my next question is, "What does she do?"  This question leads to other questions that maybe I shouldn't be thinking but I'll confess them to you.  "How can she afford this fancy purse?"  "Is it a gift?" Calling a Spade a spade

Kate Spade.  You should know that I love her stuff.  She has such cute high end stuff.  It's really inventive.  In fact, I was discussing this with someone recently before I got into some really big purse problems... but this is a story for another day... What does it say when you wear a Kate Spade purse?  In fact, what does any purse say?  Do your purses talk for you?  When you see someone with the LV logo, what are you thinking about that person?  What does that say about us that we want to be thought of a certain way?  Is it narcissism?  Is it vanity?  Why wouldn't any old label do?
